New high-resolution maps to unlock land value in six lakh villages

The high-resolution maps being prepared by the Survey of India will lead to complete digitisation of land records in India. This is going to be a giant leap for the country. The current maps have been made on a 1:50,000 scale. The new maps will offer 1:500 resolution, meaning 1 cm on the map will represent 500 cm on the ground.
