Rice mills come to standstill despite exemption from lockdown

Basmati rice exporters said they were also concerned about the status of shipments en route overseas destinations. The lockdown has brought further shipments to a standstill as the ports are hit and trade related crucial procedures including phytosanitary inspections. Rice exports from India fell 35% in the first three quarters of this financial year.
