Demand for work under MGNREGA shot up 38.79% in current fiscal

“Total 22.49 crore sought work under the scheme in the current financial year until September 12, 2020 compared to 16.2 crore during the corresponding period last year, a jump of 38.79%,” rural development minister Narendra Singh Tomar said in response to a question in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
